Stephanie recently reunited with producer Scott Hendy from Bristol, UK, recording three new tracks for his latest Boca 45 album, expected to be released in Spring 2015.
The pair previously worked together on Stephanie's debut album McKay (2003) on the track “Thinking of You” as well as on the track “In The City” (listen) from Boca 45's first album Pitch Sounds (2004).
When certain friends ask you to do a gig, you jump at the chance no matter what. It was such an honor to be a part of Meshell Ndegeocello's band for a day performing at Afropunk Fest, August 22-23 2014 in Brooklyn. If you haven't heard the album Comet, Come to Me—it's one of the best soul albums released this year. And my 5-year-old has the title track on repeat. My favorite is “Good Day Bad”.
Stephanie is back in the studio with her long-time brothers Brooklyn Funk Essentials as a guest vocalist on one of their new songs on their upcoming album. Check out BFE's website (www.brooklynfunkessentials.com) for details on the release, expected in Spring 2015.
After a multi-year hiatus, Stephanie returned to the stage in 2013-14 with a pair of sold-out shows. Reconnecting with her loyal New York following, she opened the Apollo Music Café's season with her full seven-piece band and continued with a second show at Joe's Pub.
After some much needed time away from performing to focus on family and raising her son, Stephanie is thrilled to be back performing with many new projects in the works. Stay tuned in 2014-15 for new music!
